Clarity 2010 Conference
Clarity’s 4th international conference
Lisbon, Portugal, 12-14 October 2010
Hosted by Português Claro
The CLARITY 2010 conference brings together plain language specialists, information designers, and legal experts from around the world to exchange experiences and new ideas about promoting clear communication in the public and private sectors.
CLARITY is a worldwide group of lawyers and interested lay people. Its aim is the use of good, clear language by the legal profession.
With more than 90 speakers from 22 countries, the conference program has plenty of case studies, master classes, and specialists from different areas giving us their perspective on communicating clearly with the public. All sessions will be simultaneously translated between English and Portuguese.
Plain-language advocates and practitioners often feel somewhat alone in the world. (Oh the misery.) But a Clarity conference is the perfect way to
- be reminded why we do the work we do
- learn from others
- further develop our ideas in discussions between the sessions
- connect, or reconnect, with others who share our purpose
Whatever your energy level, Clarity’s conference always gives a lift. Join us!
Speakers include Center for Plain Language board members: Annetta Cheek, Joe Kimble, Susan Kleimann, Whitney Quesenbery, Karen Schriver, and John Spotila; as well as plain language researchers and champions from at least 10 other countries.
