The Center for Plain Language is proud to partner with the Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA) to present the 2026 ClearMark Awards as part of the IHA Health Literacy Conference.
This year’s ClearMark program is more than an awards ceremony. In addition to recognizing outstanding examples of plain language across industries, the session will include audience participation and practical plain language tips that attendees can apply in their own work. Participants will see real-world examples of clear, effective communication and learn what makes them successful.

Webinar: Practical AI for Plain Language Professionals

The Center for Plain Language invites you to join this introductory webinar on using AI as a practical tool to support plain language work. Led by Stephanie Morrison, this session will explore how AI can assist with editing, reviewing, and improving content while keeping human expertise at the center.
Participants will learn how to write effective prompts, identify and avoid common risks such as inaccuracy and oversimplification, and apply simple, reliable approaches to improve clarity and usability. Whether you’re new to AI or looking to use it more thoughtfully in your workflow, this session will offer practical guidance you can use right away.
