Jennifer Pearce founded Plain Language Health consulting services in 2015 to promote patient engagement through understanding. She also serves as the Patient Experience Investigator and health literacy subject matter expert for Sutter Health’s Research, Development and Dissemination division. In both capacities she champions efforts to reduce health system complexity for all patients.
Jennifer’s expertise is partnering with patients and providers to build health literate foundations for patient engagement. She and her Sutter Health colleagues were recognized by the Center for Plain Language, earning ClearMark Awards of Distinction in 2012 and 2013. She is also a member of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Health Literacy Workgroup.
Before joining Sutter Health in 2009, Jennifer led national patient engagement initiatives for the NIH-funded Autoimmune Disease Genetics Research Projects at the University of California San Francisco. She holds a BA from the University of California San Diego and an MPA in Health Care Administration from California State University East Bay.
