Dr. Krystle Allen Mitchell is the Learning and Workforce Management Chief for the Science and Technology Directorate of the Department of Homeland Security. She has ten years of federal government experience in training and development and human resources. She specializes in adult learning theories, change management, policy development, budget management, program management and oversight, assessments for partnership building, and strategic planning.
Dr. Mitchell received her Doctorate in Education with an Adult Learning concentration at Argosy University, where she assessed the effects of writing interventions on employees’ writing competence. Her prior speaking engagements along with her spring 2015 publication in The Public Manager addressed the impact of plain language initiatives on employee performance. She is also a member of the Association for Talent Development.
