Celebrate a Day of Plain Language in D.C.!
Tuesday, May 8, 2018
If you care about plain language and clear communication, we have a terrific day of learning, networking, and celebration for you.
Join us Tuesday, May 8, 2018! We have a star-studded workshop, a networking cocktail reception, and the 9th annual ClearMark Awards, where we’ll celebrate award-winning clarity from English and Spanish communicators.
Here’s the schedule for the day:
12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Workshop: Content Strategy 101 with Kristina Halvorson
5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – ClearMark Awards Networking Cocktail Reception and Dinner
Workshop: Content Strategy 101
Start the day with a hands-on Content Strategy workshop, led by Kristina Halvorson, the CEO and founder of Brain Traffic, a world-renowned content strategy consultancy. Kristina is one of the most recognized and important voices in content strategy.
Kristina’s workshop, Content Strategy 101: Start Here is a great learning opportunity and is sure to sell out quickly.
Web content is hard, complicated, expensive, time-consuming, and often overwhelming. And though it’s why people come to your website, it’s the #1 killer of a good user experience.
This workshop will help you produce better, more effective, more manageable web content.
Enjoy an evening of celebration and fun at our 9th annual cocktail hour, dinner, and awards event.
Peter Loge is our keynote speaker on “The Future of Plain Language.” An Associate Professor of Media and Public Affairs at the George Washington University, Peter has more than 20 years of experience in communications at the Food and Drug Administration and senior positions for Sen. Edward Kennedy and three members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
His career includes putting the first Member of Congress on the Internet to lobbying on behalf of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” We’re excited for him to join us and share his thoughts on the future of plain language as we celebrate our 2018 ClearMark Award winners.
